Hi there,
This looks like a fairly serious problem with FME - it's been filed
with our developers with a P1 (top) priority and I'll let you know
when a fix is available.

In the meantime, I don't see much of a workaround I'm afraid. Can you
set up a database view with the where clause in? Perhaps then FME
would let you prefetch "select * from view" - because it seems to be
the where clause we are stumbling over.
