Hi Melanie,
What sort of scale are you working to? In some cases 5600km would be a
disastrous shift - but I guess it might be small in a map of the
entire world.

What version of FME are you using? Is it 2007 beta? That would be
using rich geometry and would therefore need a different approach to
diagnose.

Pre 2007, it could be a mismatch between the actual coordinate of the
text and the insertion point, which are two different things.

All text features in FME have a point geometry. The X/Y coordinate of
that point is always the LOWER LEFT corner. Perhaps either you or FME
are confusing it with a centre-centre insertion point?
