You need to talk to Dan Cooney at GE Smallworld in the US. We have exported
and imported 3D data with no problems. Your Data model has to allow 3D data
but other than that it does work.

Hi Larry,

Thank you.
I checked with Smallworld support and they said that there is only unofficial
workaround which simply flattens the 3d geometry to 2d on FME export.
If you know something more for real 3D on FME export and import from or to
Smallworld, please let me know.

Yes, it is possible but you will need to get some patches from GE Smallworld to
allow export and import of 3D data. This info is related to FME 4.0 for
Smallworld.

Subject: [fme] Smallworld Export/Import 3D points (to any format)

Hi,

I have a problem trying to export 3D points from Smallworld to any format.
If sworld feature, with geometry type point, is coordinate3D then geometry is
not exported, otherwise it is exported correctly. Same happens with import.
Anybody experience this problem?

Is it possible, at all, to export/import objects from/to Smallword if they have
3D coordinates?

Regards,
