You could have versionitis. It might be you need to run the "sdelayer -o
create" admin command on your business table to have ArcGIS register your
layer (by creating the ObjectID field).

A persistent "load only" state can be caused by an inability to create the
spatial index, say because your storage parameters have a problem
(permissions or space) or more likely the spatial index grid1 specified is
too small for the polygons you are working with (bump it up).

Subject: [fme] SDE30 Writer

Hello,

I am doing some testing of writing to SDE using FME. I used the SDE30 Writer
to load a small polygon dataset. Everything seemed to load fine, but the
feature class is not showing up in ArcCatalog. The business table is in the
database, as well as the f and s tables. One thing I noticed was that no
OBJECTID field was added to the business table, which is the case when
loading the data from ArcCatalog. Are there additional steps to make the
feature class operational?

I also tried loading with the Geodatabase writer, but kept getting a message
that "load only" status could not be set to false. Other than this it seemed
to work fine, but when I opened up the data in ArcCatalog I got a message
that this feature class is "load only". Any suggestions on how to make this
work?

Thanks,
