Are you sure that the squares are mathematically adjacent (no slivers,
etc?)

Care to provide some sample data?

Hans, thanks for the quick reply. I tried the dissolver, and it 'sort
of' worked. It oonsolidated the squares into lines, but not the whole
area as I was expecting. The squares that have been consolidated would
have been consecutive rows in the MapInfo file. I assumed FME would have
read in all the squares and then analysed each one to see if there was a
neighbor with an equivalent value.
