Hi Brian, > Does FME support transformation from CadVance files? (.vmf).
Not as a known supported format. In which case I think the options open to you are these... 1) Ask us (Safe) to support it. We'll need a specification and proof that it would be useful to a number of users. 2) Use the Cadvance tools to convert to DWG, then use FME to read the DWG data. 3) If .vwf is an ascii format dataset then you could create a custom format in FME to read it using the TextFile reader. That's how some of our existing formats are achieved. 4) If it's not ascii then I think you'd have to use the FME plug-in SDK to develop a reader. 5) Ask one of our talented resellers to implement a plug-in; of course this is going to incur some cost. 6) Suggest to Cadvance that they create an FME plugin - which would no doubt expose their product to a wider audience Hope this helps, Mark Mark Ireland, Senior Product Specialist Safe Software Inc.
