Just few ideas.

First thing to try - Sampler i.e. not to use all points, but every 2nd
or 3rd -it should decrease ammount of needed processing

Another thing- aggregator .
Not sure what happens when using aggregator on large ammount of data.

But then You could use bufferer. And possibly AreaSmoother.
