I'm working with a map of the US. I'm zoomed way out, and need only rough outlines.
One thing I would like to do, to keep things simple, is to simply delete those islands of Alaska that are in the eastern hemisphere (across the 180th line of longitude). I'm at a loss at how to do it in FME. I'd have thought that SpatialFilter would have been the answer, except that it tests a set of candidate features against a set of base features, and I have no base feature. I could create one - use a WKT of 'MULTIPOLYGON(((45 45, 180 45, 180 90, 45 90, 45 45)))', if I could figure out how to create a feature source using WKT from within FME Workbench. Any Ideas?
