It's funny, but I don't see many users doing that - even at Safe! I
see custom transformers being used to re-use components, or to share
specific functionality (eg the examples on fmepedia), but it's rare to
see them used purely as a workspace organizational tool and that's a pity.

Does anyone use the ability to convert a bookmark to a custom
transformer? Right-click a bookmark to find it.

I'm wondering if anyone would find Bruce's suggestion helpful...
"bookmarks could (optionally) take their content behind tabs, like
custom transformers, and leave behind a Swiss hole". I filed this as
PR12973 since I think it would be quite useful. In effect I guess it
would be a minimize and maximize button on a bookmark.

I like the Antipodes map that someone posted a link to...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antipodes - kudos to anyone who can
produce the same using FME.

And on the GUI topic, I got a demo today of a prototype transformer
drag-n-drop-n-insert mechanism. It's fantastic. FME2008 is going to be
so cool. [I know. Raving about 2008 when 2007 is just released. In my
mountain climbing days I always thought a true mountaineer wasn't one
who climbed a mountain and basked in the achievement, but rather one
who climbed a mountain, looked over to one nearby and said "wow - I
have so got to climb that one". I'm getting the same feeling now.
Whatever summits FME reaches, there's always something higher for us
to aim for. Anyway, here endeth the lesson! Back to work.]
