Hi Richard,
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do here.

The ChangeDetector doesn't attach attributes, merely notes the
difference between two sets of features. If you wish to just find the
differences in a single attribute then you can select it in the
"attributes to match" setting in the ChangeDetector.

If you wish to transfer an attribute from one feature to another, then
the Matcher transformer will help (if you enter a list name), or if
the features have a common ID you could use the FeatureMerger. If you
want to join attributes based on a spatial relationship then there are
a number of overlayer transformers, or the SpatialFilter which will
work well if you set the 'merge attributes' setting to yes.
