We've got other machines.

But I'd have to buy another copy of FMP10 in order to test the idea.

We do have one PowerMac machine running FMP9. It has no problem with the datafile....less trying to do features found only on FMP10.

Yes, I'd be curious as to how a third machine acted when getting in remotely. If a third is not available, I might try hosting on the macbook and clienting from the G4. Those might narrow down your issue.

Regret to report 'no joy' in the process.

I doubt if it is a network issue. It seems to be confined to the this datafile, FMP10a and/or MacBook Pro machine. Other machines don't seem to have this problem with that file. Or any other file.

I've tried re-installing FMP10a, also. No improvement either.

There is something definitely 'odd' about all of this.
