Hello,

I tried to generate a grid_spec file using the "ht" field from an
earlier MOM_2 run. (The ht field went in place of the topo field in the
topo file and I made grids_nml to be identical to the earlier run.).

The topog_nml is
cat > topog_nml <<EOF
 &topog_nml
  topog_file='/home/swathi/exp18_topo/exp18_topo4',
  topog_field='TOPO',
  kmt_min=2,  scale_factor=0.985, flat_bottom=.false.,full_cell=.true.,
  filter_topog=.false., num_filter_pass=0,
  topography='from_file', max_dist=0.001, adjust_topo = .false./
EOF

The scale_factor was needed for some round off issues and I have disabled
any interpolation with max_dist=0.001 as well as turning off any
smoothing.

I noticed that at points where there was full depth, the ht field created
by mom4 grid generator was deeper by about 100m. (All other points were
identical to within round off).

I wonder if any one else has noticed this when trying to adapt mom4
grid_spec to earlier models with full cells (and if there's a way to fix
this).

Thanks

Swathi
