Hi, RogueScanner is an open-source project dedicated to exactly what you are looking for: finding wireless access points by scanning a LAN.
http://roguescanner.networkchemistry.net/ RogueScanner uses a large, collaboratively constructed database to classify everything connected to a LAN, including PCs, switches, routers, printers, and of course APs. If you need to scan a LAN with more than a few hundred devices on it then there is a commercial version too: http://www.networkchemistry.com/products/rfprotectscanner.php The commercial version is appliance based and adds a rich user interface for finding unauthorized devices on networks of thousands or tens of thousands of devices.
