Released Snort (2.8) has some IPv6 latent features which can be compiled on, but there hasn't been a wholesale review of things like the signatures to "v6-ize" them, and Snort doesn't handle all of the myriad IPv6/IPv4 tunneling options yet.
It would not be generally accurate to say that Snort v2.8 supports IPv6; it's more like Snort v2.8 has some IPv6 code in it, the first steps in a long and ugly slog. jms Alan Shimel wrote: > I thought Snort is IPv6 already too? > > a > > StillSecure > Alan Shimel > Chief Strategy Officer > > O 303.381.3815 > C 516.857.7409 > F 303.381.3881 > > StillSecure, After All These Years > > ↑ Grab this Headline Animator > > www.stillsecure.com > The information transmitted is intended only for the person > to whom it is addressed and may contain confidential material. > Review or other use of this information by persons other than > the intended recipient is prohibited.
