Subject: Sendmail Pro Issue

Yes, Ruben, you are correct. We are no longer patching versions
of Sendmail Pro running OS that are not as current as 7.1, I believe.
There are lots of changes to RH (and Sendmail) that make them both far
more secure, with less vulnerabilities, than older versions of
OS'es and our products.

We end of life our products for a reason. We don't recommend companies
run old versions of our software due to enhancements to products as new
versions are released. We don't sell old versions of s/w once a new
version is
released.

As a matter of fact, like you said on Monday, Blue Mountain purchased
the upgrade for Pro (back in 3/2000) but choose not to install it.
You bought it for a good reason. It's a better product than Pro.

Judging from your emails, you are stuck upgrading to a current RH
version
to avoid the vulnerability. You are the first customer I have had all
week
that is in the same position as you are (using a RH 6.0 or less
version).
I am sorry that you need to upgrade your OS to patch your system.
I would venture that your system would benefit
from both upgrades, once the pain is over.

Good luck, Ruben.
