Curt, we use a combination of RDP and Remote Assistance. If we're taking over a workstation (usually after hours) we use RDP (and an admin account we have set up). If we're assisting a user and want to shadow or share their session we use remote assistance and they have to click "ok" to let us share the session with them.
So far it's working quite well and has the added benefit that users watching what we do to fix an issue usually try the fix they've observed before calling us. And of course watching a user reproduce the issue is a lot easier than having the user try to interpret the problem for us. Hope this helps. My helpdesk has been asking for the password from the users to log into the current session. Is there some sort of shadowing they can do with their own usernames instead? We are running into this whole thing of where some users are actually saying "I'm not supposed to give that out" as they were trained, and good for them. What we need though is the ability to connect to their current session via RDP to see the problem they are having as it is happening.
