operations in several international locations. Highly regarded for it professionalism 
and utilisation of leading edge technology.   

Position Description:  
  Reporting to the VP Exploration, the Manager E&ET will provide leadership in 
applying technology to exploration and exploitation throughout the company by leading 
a team involved in: 

the identification, alignment and communication of the company�s strategic direction 
in geoscience technology;
the support of improved data quality and regional petroleum systems, rock/fluid 
properties, and seismic analysis;
the provision and coordination of specialists� support to operational staff in the 
areas of geology, geophysics and petrophysics.

The key deliverables for this role are: 

Improve the delivery of geoscience technology utilisations and support from E&ET 
resources and manage cost recovery for these efforts. 
Deliver multi-year results on strategic program for geoscience technology.
Develop and effectively manage annual manpower plan and budget. 

Systematically recruit, review, coach, and develop staff to drive superior 
performance, enable on-the-job growth and preparation for future assignments.
Reconcile resources with priorities to optimise operational and commercial outcomes. 
Establish outsourcing procedures and facilitate contractor access to supplement 
technical staff in meeting needs.
Maintain awareness of technical advances in the industry and recommend appropriate 
application at an operational level.
Serve as lead technical consultant on company-wide, geoscience and reservoir 
technology initiatives.
Establish metrics and promote improvement of geophysical, geologic, and petrophysical 
data quality. 

Although applied G&G technical expertise is necessary, the emphasis for this position 
is clearly weighted toward leadership and management of the E&ET function.

Qualifications / Experience:  
  Degree in Geophysics or Geology. 
A higher degree is preferred.
15+ years experience in an operational setting, with a minimum of 5+ years in a 
supervisory or management role.
Extensive exploration and development geoscience experience, including substantial 
work in cooperation with a central technology group. Direct involvement in E&ET 
transfer or management will be highly regarded.
A keen interest in applied geoscience technology and a vision for future trends is 
essential.
Demonstrative skills as a manager, particularly with regard to development and 
leverage of human resources, together with champion of business activity and 
associated commercial accountabilities.
