Ha..ha..ha.. Emang semua mau enak (eh aku juga sih), perusahan mintanya geologist yang tahu geophysics, IT, pa lagi enginering simulasi-produksi, lalu management, dst, dst. Tapi semua tetap dengan harga pasar. Yang diterima adalah yang paling sesuai sa'at itu. Urutan gaji semakin kecil untuk urutan dari interpreter, processor, field acq, tukang, sopir,... Sudah sejak 1995, SEG ( waktu itu di Houston) canangkan jurusan synergi : geophysics, geology, PE. Ada trend ke explorationist ( difinisi Bu Dyah : geoph dan geol), juga development ( geoph, geol, PE). Bagi geophysicist perlu tambahan ilmu geologi, bagi geologist perlu pengetahuan geophysics (acq., processing, modeling). Baguslah yang bisa ambil tambahan kombinasinya di sekolah lanjutnya : master, doktor. JKT sih lebih mudah lakuinnya. Bisa juga management. Sudah lama (7 tahunan) ada istilah ES (earthsciencetist) suatu posisi diperuntukkan sebagai gabungan geophysics dan geologist di Caltex. Perusahaan itu tak mau sebut posisi yang disediakan adalah geoph, atau geol, tapi ES. Caltex di 1996-7 mulai gabungkan IAGI dan HAGI dalam satu pengurus, kini pemisahan pengurus di dilakukan. Sepertinya begini ini lebih lincah. Dipusat kini IAGI gabung HAGI dalam perhelatan pertemuan tahunan, kalik karena isi yang dimaui sulit dibedakan. Fogri setahuku mau gabungkan geoph dan geol itu pula (?). Fogri sudah membantu menjembatani dua kubu ilmu itu, dan maunya juga PE (?). Punya pengetahuan banyak ya bagus. Kerjaan yang bisa dilakukan seseorang pada suatuan waktu tetap terbatas.
