Dear Distinguished FOGRI Members,
The Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) will hold a 5-day course entitled "Wireline Formation Test Interpretation" in Yogyakarta from March 29th to April 2nd, 2004. The course will be taught by Dr. Andrew Chen, an Independent Consultant from Calgary, Canada. The course focuses on the application and interpretation of pressure gradients, from analyzing a single pretest, to making sense of a group of pressures for gradient analysis, to interpreting multi-gradients slopes for fluid contacts in single and multiwells. The importance of quality control of pressure data and gradient/slope error analysis will be emphasized. The course will basically be structured to cover two aspects of WFT technologies: the applications aspect, and the craftsmanship of WFT data interpretation. The course is designed for Upstream E&P company professionals of geological, petrophysical and reservoir engineering background from junior to intermediate levels, working on G&G projects or in reservoir evaluation and development teams. Typically geologists, petrophysicists, hydrodynamists, wellsite supervisors, well test engineers, pressure transient data interpreters, and reservoir engineers. This course will be taught by Andy Chen. He is an independent consultant based in Calgary, specializing in all aspects of WFT design and interpretation. Andy has analysed many Canadian and international WFT's courses in Canada and Australia. His practical and troubleshooting experience has provided him with many excellent teaching examples and allowed him to develop several shortcut analytical techniques to pass onto participants. The course fee is US$ 1,150 for IPA Members and US$1,250 for Non IPA Members. The course fee excludes hotel accommodation and transportation.
