Breaking News
In three more or less simultaneous/identical Wob-procedures this week 597
documents of the AIVD, the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service
[GISS] on the Dutch involvement in the Iraq War are disclosed.
The documents are a substantial part of the intelligence docs used in the
official Iraq inquiry [The Davids Commitee]. Till now all documents used by
this committee, a pile of more than 10 meter high, were not disclosed. In
upcoming decisions we expect much more disclosures for instance of docs of the
military intelligence service and of the prime-ministers office.
Coming weeks and months we have to assess this enormous catch.
Almost all documents are diclosed integral, which is quit unusual for intel
docs especially if they are so young.
The disclosure is the result of three Wob-requests
1 - Argos/Reporter/Zembla: three public broadcast investigative news programs
they filed their request via a Wob-specialist: Wil van der Schans
2 - Argos/NRC/RTL News: a public investigative radio program / a national
newspaper / a commercial TV News program
they filed their request via me
3 - A free lance investigative journalist: Brenno de Winter
he himself is the third Wob specialist
On june 5 I posted an article on FOIANet called: Improving the Wob
One aspects is improving its power, ........ smile
