NIC fails to provide NOC's information ??? ?? ? ? ? ? ? HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE KATHMANDU: National Information Commission (NIC) has failed to ensure Right to Information (RTI) Act to Freedom Forum.
The forum had sought information about free coupon distribution and transaction details of petroleum products of the last five years from Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), said RTI activist Taranath Dahal, adding that the corporation did not provide complete information to the forum. ?We had approached NIC after we were unsuccessful in obtaining complete information from NOC,? he said, adding NIC has done nothing so far even after 60 days of the appellate from the forum. "The commission had to finalise the case within 60 days of appellate according to Article 10 of the RTI Act." The forum has asked the commission to take necessary steps to make NOC's crucial information public, he said, adding that it will approach the Supreme Court if it fails to do so. ?
