For those of you who may be curious about the "Pakboat" Folding Kayak,
the latest issue of MESSING ABOUT IN BOATS (Dec. 1, 2000) has nice
write-up on it, as well as a photo layout showing the assembly. The
publisher has back issues available and may be contacted here:

Basically this is the smallest of the Pakboat folding canoes with a
fabric deck snapped on. Ralph Diaz also had a nice review of it in his
last Folding Kayaker newsletter. The basic claim to fame is a very small
packaged size and ease of assembly, plus a very reasonable price ($1000
US).

It's interesting to note that Bob Hicks' (MAIB) review is not quite as
positive as Ralph's. I think it's because Bob was comparing it's
sea-going qualities to non-folders, while Ralph was impressed by the
small folded package compared to other folders. At least that's my
guess.

The manufacturer's website is here:

   http://www.pakboats.com/

But I don't believe it includes info on all the options reviewed in the
magazines.

Is anyone familiar with this line of folding boats?
