I have received no complaints so far about any "philosophers" taking us WAAAAY off topic and have seen no cancellations of subscriptions to this mailing list. Therefore feel free to carry on, at least until someone makes a good case for you to stop, at which point I would step in and recommend that you go back channel -- but not yet! This largesse comes with one condition from my side: The topic of sharpening is very much related to building (wooden framed) folding boats and therefore certainly has a place on this list.
