Hi, Jon and crew --
I got the following message (below); I've never heard of this
person. But at any rate, I did decide to look for the file he
mentions using Explorer, and I did find the file, complete with the
Teddy Bear icon. However, when I then did a virus scan with my
updated Proland Protector, it did not find any viruses. So what
gives? Is the file in question actually a harmless one, and perhaps
even important or necessary, or is it a real virus which Proland did
not pick up on, and if so, I suppose I should delete it?
Thanks for any help or suggestions on this!
I also have some questions re a computer purchase which I'll send
in a separate email. Basically I'm trying to decide between some kind
of Dell computer, and a customized one through Cyber Data on Exchange
St. in Bangor. I'll follow up later tonight or tomorrow with more
detailed questions.
Take care, -- Valerie C.

I followed the instructions and sure enough I had the virus. Because
I didn't recognize the sender at the time I received it I deleted it.
The instructions "found" it and I HOPE I got rid of it for good.
Thanks Randi! Love, A.Glenna ----- Original Message ----- From: To:

A friend accidentally sent this to me. This is actually a virus that I
found on my computer. Please follow the instructions to delete it.
PLEASE READ! VERY IMPORTANT & FOR REAL !!!
My address book has been infected with a virus called
jdbgmgr.exe. It probably has been sent to you b/c you are in my
address book, & if it's in yours, it has been sent to those in your
address book. It cannot be detected by Norton or McAfee Anti-virus
programs! It sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system.
It's sent automatically by messenger & by the address book, whether or
not you send e-mails.
To get rid of it:
1. Go to start, then Find or Search.
2. In Files/Folders, write the name jdbgmgr.exe
3. Be sure to search in your "C" drive
4. Click Find or Search
5. The virus has a teddy bear logo with the name jdbgmgr.exe --DO NOT
OPEN IT !!! 6. Right click and delete it 7. Go to the recycle bin &
delete it there also.
IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS
