Hi Ron, On my IE6 (I don't have IE 5 anymore), you set the font size under view>textsize.
However, the reality is that you don't know what your pages are going to look like when someone else views them, because they may have set a different size AND different browsers handle things slightly differently. It is always a good idea to look at your pages in at least IE and Netscape before posting them (to be sure there isn't something drastically off - I've occasionally made pages where one or the other totally scrambled the tables, the way I had them set up, just for one example). If you really want something to look a certain way, then when you create the page you can set the font style and size - rather than having it be "default". But - beware - this prohibits users who may want to choose a larger font size because of their vision or perhaps a smaller font size for some other reason from doing so. So it's a tradeoff. There is an excellent book put out by PeachPit Press called "Web Design for Non Designers" which addresses many of these issues in a very readable format. It is written by someone named Robin Williams, I think - though I'm not completely sure of that at the moment. Hope this is helpful. -cynthia phinney > -----Original Message----- > From: Ron Huber > Sent: Wednesday, November 13, 2002 9:35 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [folkschool-list] Internet explorer default font question > > > Friends > > I am using internet explorer 5 and wonder how one changes the default font > size.
