Dear David, FYI, I just hacked a simple version of Fomus support for Org babel (http://orgmode.org/, http://orgmode.org/org.html#Working-With-Source-Code). This was done in less than 1 hour, but already allows for a wide range of things, including literal programming of Fomus code. This code will soon be integrated into org mode (in the contrib-directory).
