Dear David,

I greatly appreciate that Fomus automatically translates gradual dynamic
changes into hairpins (wedges). However, it seems that Fomus requires a rather
even transition of dynamic values in order to get this result. I also found
your setting dyn-wedge, but its maximum setting 1/2 is seemingly not high
enough for me.

For example, in the following Fomus snipped I would like to see Fomus create
only static dynamic markers (ppp, pp etc.) if the dynamic value is literally
repeated (or very close). However, if it changes continuously over at least 3
notes I would like to see some hairpin generated, regardless how even these
changes are.

part <id:1>
note part 1 time:0.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.23622 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:2.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.23622 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:4.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.23622 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:6.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.007874 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:8.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.15748 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:10.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.3937 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:12.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.62992 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:14.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:1.0 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:16.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.47244 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:18.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.15748 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:20.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.15748 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:22.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.62992 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:24.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.62992 pitch:60.0 ;
note part 1 time:26.0 dur:2.0 dynamic:0.62992 pitch:60.0 ;

Would that perhaps be possible in the current Fomus release?

Thanks a lot!

Best wishes,
Torsten
