Having open-ended goals doesn't mean being unfocused. Imagine someone
suggests that the programming language should have static type
checking. We should be able to point to the goals (e..g, "dynamic,
reflective environment"), so it's obvious that this suggestion doesn't
fit.

What I'm missing is:
* crisp mission statement
* ordered list of the first few milestones (can be open-ended)
* priority-ordered list of non-ambiguous goals for each milestone

That information should be prominently visible on the front page of
the website. Instead of reading about the traditions and history
("What is Viewpoints Research Institute?") visitors foremost want to
know "What are you creating?". Well, I'll *try* to improve the front
page and post an example (this will take some time), but it will not
list any goals because I don't really know them.
