Surely you're not trying to say C and C-like languages are popular
because they respect math precedence?  If so I would have to see a lot
of documentation talking about this, because IMO it wasn't even the
slightest of considerations.  C won because it was fast, had the right
backing and had a "killer app" (Unix).
