I think the only standard is "keep the same spirit of what is already
written."  I'm pretty sure the tabs in the sources are automatically
put there by Emacs smalltalk and lisp modes.  If whitespace changes
really start to dominate the submitted patches, then we can figure
something out, but for now I think it's alright to be fast-and-easy
with whitespace.

I suggest the mailing list for now, so that everybody can see.  If it
gets to be too much traffic, we will have the happy problem of needing
to create a separate list just for patches.
