Sounds like you want a publish/subscribe model. Anyhow, this and your B12 analogy made me think about the earlier thread on physics inspired computations. It might be interesting to associate 'energy' with each message and its size. The recipient of a message would 'consume' it, essentially, and potentially store the energy for later use.
