good font

This is the font extracted from the PS file generated in comment 17.

You can open both the good and broken font in fontforge and view the characters
side by side. The "bold" character has thinner strokes. The horizontal strokes
have almost zero width.

It is hard to see how cairo could cause this sort of output. It looks more like
a FreeType bug. I'm not sure how to debug this any further without writing some
FreeType test code to check the output from FreeType. And that is something I
don't have time to do.

Note: the png output from the testcase is using the glyph bitmaps generated by
FreeType while the PDF/PS output is using the outlines from FreeType.
