If I reinstall these, I have the original problem. (I had forgotten I once installed these -- sorry!) I also ran fc-cache -f at various points. I am now using fontconfig-2.10.93-2.fc19 and urw-fonts-2.4-18.fc19.noarch, and I no longer have any problem with them.
