@Patryk Obara the move to a single text layouting engine built around the
OpenType format was announced in 2006, and documented in 2007 in Fedora font
packaging guidelines. So people had more than 20 releases to prepare.

That bitmap users chose to disbelieve this monumental amount of work would ever
be finished (it took 13 years to be done) is not anyone else’s fault.

The final stages of the move to OpenType happen upstream, they’re not a Fedora
decision.
