Jerry James <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #13 from Jerry James <[email protected]> --- FontAwesome 4.x and 5.x are different enough that it looks nontrivial to port packages from one to the other. This came up because I am trying to get python-pydata-sphinx-theme into Fedora, and it requires FontAwesome 5.x. I cannot get it to work with the existing Fedora packages. These packages directly require version 4.x. None of them have newer upstream versions that require 5.x. - cantata - freeipa - ipsilon - mkdocs - plasma-applet-redshift-control - python-XStatic-Font-Awesome - python-sphinx_rtd_theme - rubygem-font-awesome-rails - texlive-fontawesome This package requires version 5.x. Since 5.x is not available from Fedora, this package bundles the fonts. - texlive-fontawesome5 These packages require version 4.x indirectly via python-sphinx_rtd_theme: - coq - libgpuarray - libsemigroups - python-BTrees - python-acme - python-f5-sdk - python-networkx - python-notebook - python-streamlink - python3-sphinx-ansible_theme Note that a new version of python-networkx is available that uses the aforementioned python-pydata-sphinx-theme instead of python-sphinx_rtd_theme, so it will need version 5.x also after being updated. I think it will be necessary to have both 4.x and 5.x versions in Fedora for awhile. We already have one package bundling 5.x. If we don't want that to keep happening, then we will need to put our collective heads together to figure out how to get 5.x into Fedora. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ fonts-bugs mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/[email protected] Do not reply to spam on the list, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure
