I have no idea. Generally speaking, a fork should be dealt like a different
font as they have different family name. If one of them are legitimate
successor, they may want to inherit the original name.

Given that upstream is dead, you may have a few options to take an action for
this:

1. to modify the problematic zip file and use a modified version.
2. to make it dead package
3. and/or to package either of the above link which is well-maintained,
with/without substitute of this. it is up to you.
