Hi
I do have the following problem:
I have to code a labeling module for Open Inventor.
But as OIV only includes a postscript renderer for 2D fonts i want
to limit the font selection to postscript fonts only.

For that i do need a way to safely figure out which of the fonts availiable on a
system is postscript font and therefor schould be presented to the user for
selection and which is not.

Are there any conventions or characteristics which can be used to determine
if a font is postscript or not???

Ar there any tools (best if also accessible c/c++ as function) via which one can
  check font for beeing postscript.

The worst case schould be that administrator runs a shellscript uppon
installation of labeling tool and when installing new fonts or removing old ones.
But this should only be the most worst case.

Displaying all fonts is inacceptable as users will only know the name of the
font and how it will look like but nothing about font internals.

Hope any body can give me at least some hints within the next days(weeks??) -
*begging on*please*begging off*
