I have posted the first version of a new Bengali font and it encoding at: http://www.btinternet.com/~shaheedhaque/raga.tgz Notes... 1. I had some difficulty with inserting the complete XFree86 license (replacing all instances of ``the XFree86 Project'' by my name as suggested), so it presently has a rather bald one-liner. Any advice on how to fix this is welcome. To avoid doubt: it is certainly my intent that the font become part of XFree86. 2. Juliusz: it would be great if you were able to check that the encoding file is done correctly. I tried to include both Unicode and Postscript mappings as suggested. 3. I have supplied the hinted pfaedit source file (raga.sfd) along with the scalable .pfa and a few sample .bdf bitmap fonts generated from the .sfd. The font is currently missing the ASCII characters. Any pointers to a glyph set which could be freely included AND later distributed with XFree86 are welcome. 4.
