Mostly, I'm looking for a reasonable font matching scheme and CSS2 is 
really close to what I'm doing now, in fact, my current matching scheme is 
CSS2 compliant except for weight fill-in.

I see no reason to have a non-standard matching scheme which is gratuitously
different from CSS2.

rendering variations which fit in the current scheme quite nicely; in fact,
I already have more rendering instruction than CSS3 permits, although CSS3 
seems to include some stuff which I've placed in the configuration files, 
like which sizes should have anti-aliasing applied.

Are there other reasonable matching schemes that I'm not aware of?
