The Bitstream fonts (Charter and friends): probably yes, but I don't remember for sure. IBM Courier and Adobe Utopia: probably not, but does anybody actually know? Luxi/Lucidux: definitely not. In addition, you may want to check the GhostScript fonts from URW++ (in version 6.0 or later) which come under the GPL -- which will make your font impossible (or unlikely?) to be included in XFree86.
