Are there any relatively simple examples of using fontconfig for font discovery? I'm trying to get fonts for the purpose of rendering text in OpenGL. So I don't think I need Xft; just fontconfig and FreeType. I'm not clear on how to go from an FcPattern to an FT_Face. The fontconfig documentation seems directed at someone who knows about the issues involved in font rendering; I'm pretty naive about that. Any pointers would be appreciated.
