I have two Linux machines with identical XFree86-4.2.0 installations (I copied one from the other), with the exception of the low-level driver - nvidia on machine A, mga on machine B.
On machine B, one font directory produces the error message on the Subject: line above. On machine A, everything is fine. (And on machine B, everything else is fine; it's just this one font directory that seems problematic.) Would anyone have an idea of what is wrong? As noted, the low-level driver is the only difference between the machines that I can think of. But can the driver really have an effect on what fonts are used?
