Ahhh, do you know, I'd given my advice thinking that this was exactly what
you wanted. :-)
What you really want to do, evidently, is to _completely_ suppress the
inline. In which case, you probably want to check for the property at layout
time, and do a no-op if 'hidden' is set, so no layout ever happens. That is,
return a Status.OK right away.
