I had a look at this and the problem has to do with the logic that
keeps track
of the last 'position' generated for an fo. It seems to get it
wrong when a
'letter space' is added at a later stage. Which is the main
difference in the
processing of '...abc</fo:inline> )</fo:inline>' vs
'...abc</fo:inline>)</fo:inline>'. Haven't figured out a fix
though :(.
