Does anyone know if there used to be a symlink between stable and the current release (i.e., 1.1)? Can that be done? It looks like changing the README file to say 1.1 or trunk (which both work) is not the best approach.

--------------------------------

Summary: Broken URLs in the README for how to build/run
                  Key: FOP-2254
                  URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FOP-2254
              Project: Fop
           Issue Type: Bug
     Affects Versions: 1.1
             Reporter: Shlomi Fish

The README reads:

How do I build FOP?
-------------------

If you've downloaded a binary distribution, you don't need to build
FOP.

Otherwise, please follow the instructions found here:
http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/stable/compiling.html

How do I run FOP?
-----------------

Simply by typing "fop" on the command-line. Without any parameters you
will receive a screen with instruction on how to call FOP from the
command-line.

For more details, see:
http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/stable/running.html

However, the URL of http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/stable/compiling.html is
broken as is http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/stable/ and
http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/stable/running.html . So I don't know how to
build and run fop. Please fix it.
