I originally learnt about this here: http://www.kuro5hin.org/comments/2002/12/4/0267/60193/11#11 and since making the suggested changes my Perl and PHP scripts now work IE. When I comment out that line it doesn't work.
Specifically, when making the change it now works in IE 6.0.3790.0, 6.0.2600.0000, 5.00.2614.3500, and 4.72.3110. These machines all have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.1.0.
