No, but here is an idea that might help some: Download the FOP source code and learn from the PDF renderer. With the Adobe doc (theory) in one hand and the FOP source code (practice) in another, you can probably make good progress, and with the Apache license, you can even use FOP's work as the basis for your own (see the license for details, linked from the FOP home page).
