why do you need to use block-container? block-containers are only partially implemented in FOP at the moment. In the example you posted, blocks will do exactly the same thing.


Another problem is related to situation when block contains block-container,
in this case I'm getting following error while running FOP:

FOP doesnt support block-containers inside a block, block-containers have to be a direct child of fo:flow at the moment.
