Hi, I asked a similiar question last week. The answer is that you use a True Type Font (which is not searchable, in contrast to the default and PS fonts). This is a known problem and there is no workaround. Please refer also to:

Hi all, I'm embedding the ArialUnicodeMS font in my PDFs so that I can support multibyte characters when needed. The problem is that once the pdf is created, even in English, the text is not searchable. When I change the font-family to 'any' then the text is searchable, but of course Japanese wont show up properly. Is there something that can be done to make it searchable?
