This is awesome, thanks guys! Deb support for Katello has been on my wishlist for a long time. In case you didn't see it, Leah Fisher was working on something similar, albeit using the basic "file" type for Pulp - a blog post was started at [1] but hasn't been finished yet. I mention it mainly for context, since you've gone a different route :)
